Introducing - AamDhanE

AamDhanE aims to digitalise job search for blue collared workforce who usually rely on exploitative middlemen, informal networks, physical noticeboards outside factories and or labour contractors to find work.

This platform connects workers, employers and agents to introduce transparency, efficiency and effectiveness.

Business Goals

As a product designer, my job was not to redesign the product from scratch. It was to look at the existing experience and answer one question: Why are people not completing the journey?

It was to identify where users were dropping off and fix the specific moments so people can go from installing the application to getting a job offer.

In short: The founders wanted a product that works as hard as the service behind it.

  • More users engaging.

  • More profiles completed.

  • More jobs applied.

  • More people placed.

Research Methodologies

Before designing anything, we needed to understand where and why users were dropping off. Since the app was already live with real users, we didn't start from assumptions — we started from evidence.

Findings

It was clear that users weren't leaving because the jobs weren't real. They were leaving because the experience kept getting in the way. Every drop-off happened at a moment where the app asked for trust it hadn't yet earned.

Four years of reviews told the same story. Users weren't asking for more features. They were asking for the basics to work. Get in easily. Find relevant jobs and know their application was received. Trust the platform.

Design Decisions

The primary decision was to fix the friction in onboarding users by streamlining the steps, reducing cognitive load and providing contextual guidance. I focused on a simplified walkthrough, ensuring users could easily understand the app’s core value and complete their first key actions without confusion.

This redesign is built to convert downloads into outcomes by fixing the biggest funnel leaks: value shown too late, login friction, unclear discovery, and a post-apply “black hole” that breaks trust. By making the journey feel reliable (install → find → apply → track), we expect more users to stay active, complete profiles and apply with confidence that results in more placeable workers and ultimately more placements.

Every step we improve increases the number of “placeable” users in the pipeline: More completed profiles, higher shortlist-ability, more confident applications, higher match volume, clearer post-apply status and higher repeat usage.

This turns the product into a growth engine, not just a listing app i.e exactly aligned with the founders’ goal of more engagement, more profiles completed, more applications, and more people placed.
